Target information

Ferroptosis is a mode of cell death caused by iron-dependent oxidative damage discovered in recent years, which is different from apoptosis, necrosis, and autophagy. The signs of this death process are increased cytoplasm and lipid reactive oxygen species, mitochondrial shrinkage, and mitochondrial membrane density. Ferroptosis is similar to excitotoxicity caused by glutamate. The initiation and execution of iron death is related to the regulation of amino acid, lipid and iron metabolism, and is regulated by a variety of molecular mechanisms, such as: GSH is related to the regulation of redox homeostasis, such as cystine/glutamate reverse transport System, regulation of GPX4, sulfur transfer system, mevalonate (MVA) pathway, glutamine metabolism pathway, NRF2 and p53 regulatory axis.
